Melissa Behr is a multidisciplinary artist known for blending the real with the surreal. Her work is intuitive and dreamlike, exploring themes of time, nature, beauty, fear, and metaphysics. Painting through free association, she lets each piece evolve naturally, guided by instinct and accident.
Born in Rockford, Illinois, Melissa’s artistic journey began with a passion for writing and drawing. After studying graphic design at Montana State University, she pursued modeling in Paris, Milan, and New York, and later explored acting and producing in Los Angeles. Her creative path eventually led her behind the camera, photographing iconic figures like Yoko Ono, ZZ Top, and Billy Idol, and directing her feature film Me and Will, which aired on Showtime and Sundance Channel.
